Emerging Markets Analyst

The firm’s vast breadth of coverage includes seventy countries with tradable debt, and the primary sectors of the expanding Emerging Markets and Global Credit investment universe: sovereign debt, local currency debt, corporate bonds, bank loans, structured credit, special situations, mezzanine, and distressed. Responsibilities:

Analysis: Analyze financial information to forecast business, industry, and economic conditions, for use in making investment decisions: Gathers and analyzes company financial statements, industry, regulatory and economic information, and financial periodicals and newspapers.

Market Research: Support team by independently performing market research of investment sectors and other market data, including performing research and developing market analyses to identify attractive industry sub-sectors and attractive investment opportunities

Underwriting: Ensure successful execution of investments and creation of specific business plans through due diligence, research, analysis and strategizing.

Due Diligence: Support the transaction due diligence and closing processes. Collect due diligence materials, utilize information to adjust underwriting, and coordinate within the firm to facilitate the closing of a transaction.

Investment Recommendation: Work within deal team to assemble the investment committee memo including composing final investment recommendations and compiling support documents.

 

Requirements:

• Bachelor degree from a top tier university with an excellent academic record;

• 2-7 years in private equity, investment banking (bulge bracket is a plus), corporate finance or consulting;

• Previous Emerging Market experience strongly preferred

• Superior financial statement analysis, financial modeling, and business valuation skills;

• Have a demonstrably strong interest in, and commitment to, both investment management and emerging markets;

• Be a self-starter, with a strong work ethic and the ability to generate investment ideas independently;

• Strong communication skills including writing/composition, oral and listening skills;

• Ability to multi-task and work under tight deadlines;

• Superior quantitative and qualitative analytical skills;

• Demonstrate a well-organized, sensible and systematic research approach; and

• Advanced computer skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Bloomberg, Capital IQ).
