Emerging Markets Credit Officer – VP recruitment
The Emerging Markets credit risk team are based in London, and they are responsible for effective management of credit and trading risk exposures. You will work within established parameters and provide risk assessment, transaction structuring, execution and risk profile monitoring for counterparties in Central Eastern Europe, Middle East and Africa (CEEMEA).
This is a highly respected team who all have strong sector knowledge and analytical expertise in their fields.
Responsibilities include:
- Acting as principal credit officer for a portfolio of Corporate counterparties in the CEEMEA region.
- Managing all aspects of the credit relationship for a portfolio of clients. Accountable for all transaction risks in the portfolio including. This includes responsibility for: client selection; underwriting; structuring; accurate and timely risk rating; documentation and the ongoing monitoring of these risks.
- Establishing strong working relationships with business partners. Working pro-actively with business partners to balance risk and reward, optimising client relationship.
- Ensuring granularity of the portfolio with specific reference to targets for net country/credit capital, legally binding commitments and total exposure.
- Ensuring the portfolio falls within prevailing Asset Quality Standards
- Ensuring that the portfolio and credit management process are at all times rated "satisfactory" by internal auditors, the Credit Review group and external Regulators.
Skills required:
- Strong credit skills and risk judgement, and ability to defend rigorously a point of view
- In-depth knowledge of CEEMEA markets and corporate sectors
- Understanding of credit risk sensitivities in the portfolio and risk drivers of the exposures
- Sound product/technical knowledge across lending, and traded products
- Strong credit analysis experience gained at a major financial institution
- Knowledge of an Emerging Markets based language is desirable
