Emerging Markets Economist – London – Associate level recruitment
The team is top ranked within Economics and Strategy therefore this position will offer you an excellent opportunity to develop your career within this space. The key focus of the role will be to provide Macro/Economics strategy for the capital markets division therefore previous sell side experience is desired.
The role will cover Global emerging Markets therefore you will be responsible for a large amount of Geographies. You should therefore have worked within an emerging market Economics role previously and have an underlying emphasis on analysis of economic and fiscal fundamentals as the basis for market calls.
Your responsibilities will include:-
• Producing economics research reports across Global emerging markets.
• Identify cross regional and cross asset opportunities
• Developing Macro Economics models
• Present views to key clients including real money, hedge funds and central banks
• Establish good relationships with global real money and hedge funds
Your role will be based on the trading floor and you will be an integral part of the global Fixed Income business. The emerging markets and FX teams have been expanding heavily of late in line with the growing interest in local market opportunities from dedicated emerging market investors.
In order to apply for the role you should have previous experience carrying out the main duties of this role:-
EM markets quarterly publications, client marketing, conference calls, country marketing, origination pitches and visits to central banks and finance ministries etc.
