Job Purpose/Background:
Reporting to the Head of EM Fixed Income Strategy, the Head of America's EM Fixed Income Product Strategy is a role within the Portfolio Management Group of BlackRock; the product strategy team is the main point of contact for BlackRock's global client servicing group with regards to portfolio management related questions and needs.
This will involve:
- Building, and delivering on, strategic plans to accelerate the growth of the EM fixed income business in the Americas
- Be fully conversant in the BlackRock EM fixed income investment philosophy and process.
- In partnership with the different sales teams, servicing existing EM Clients of BlackRock.
- Work closely with Portfolio Managers on key messaging, portfolio positions and market trends
- Marketing the Fixed Income EM range of products clients and prospects in the Americas, internal and external, Retail and Institutional
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as a product and asset class expert in client meetings, prospective client meetings and pitches, consultant meetings and industry events.
- Act as a proxy for the Portfolio Manager servicing the internal distribution channels, both institutional and retail
- Take a proactive approach to solving client's investment-related, business and operational issues which arise during the course of the client's relationship with BlackRock by serving as the liaison between the investment team and all other areas of BlackRock (compliance, legal, operations, marketing and sales).
- Maintain an up to date knowledge base on the investment teams strategies and outlook. Provide Current insights to sales, prospective clients and consultants
- Work with the relevant product management teams to maintain and develop a coherent US range of EMD products Utilize the firms internal resources to respond to client specific request for information and other inquires in a timely manner
- To effectively contribute to the business development process from the production of strategy plans and EM products
Skills/Qualifications:
- In depth understanding of Fixed Income EM markets and products, including emerging markets sovereign and corporate credits
- Understanding of the asset management industry, it's products and various distribution channels
- A proven ability to market/service fixed income clients across the America's region
- A track record of developing successful EM fixed income products for the America's region
- Strong communications skills, excels at client meetings and presentations
- Organization, high energy, self-motivation, history of working well in a global team environment
- Strong quantitative and analytical skills
- Solutions-driven approach with an ability to build and drive forwards business and client related issues
