Job Description Job Title: EMOC - Messaging Exchange 2003 Engineer -- Secret Clearance Requisition ID: 120031S Job Category: System Engineer 5 Primary Location: USA-VA: VIRGINIA-FAIRFAX Schedule: Full-time Job Type: Regular Employee Status: Regular Job Posting: 2012-Feb-16 Description Essential Job Functions · Candidate will provide 2nd and 3rd level operations, maintenance and troubleshooting on four primary and four standby servers · All four server are running BlackBerry Enterprise Server Version 4.1.6 in a critical availability environment · Assist Tier 1 with Blackberry Smartphone troubleshooting when needed. · Track and update BES Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) as necessary · Perform user capacity/distribution management · Provide support for server tuning including monitoring, troubleshooting and optimizing performance · Work closely with exchange/database administrators and administrators · Assist with periodic maintenance and upgrades (OS, drivers,firmware) · Maintain functional knowledge of maintenance service levels and vendor Points of Contact (POCs) · Participate as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for reviews, technology and tool selection · Track and close assigned Remedy Incidents and/or Tasks · Submit a weekly Service Delivery Rep · Research and review new hardware, operating system and 3rd party technologies · Provide feedback for process improvement. Other Qualifications · Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience, Bachelor's degree in computer science, management information systems, or related field preferred · Five or more years of technical experience · In depth knowledge of Microsoft Exchange 2003/2007 system administration and service management to lead Messaging Team at EMOC Strong analytical and problem solving skills Leadership skills to guide and mentor the work of less experienced personnel Strong communication skills Strong personal computer and business solutions software skills Good ability to lead and work as part of a team Qualifications Basic Qualifications Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience Bachelors degree in systems engineering, computer science, management information systems, or related field preferred Four or more years of experience in systems engineering, software engineering, operating systems programming, or naval architecture. Experience working with computer hardware, operating system software and desktop applications with a specific concentration in one or more areas Experience working with one or more structured programming languages Experience working with design principles and applications Other Qualifications Analytical and creative problem solving skills for design, creation and testing of systems Communication skills to communicate system proposals to management and customers and provide systems diagnoses and resolution for current systems Interpersonal skills to interact with customers, senior level personnel, and team members Organization skills to balance and prioritize work Leadership skills to assist less experienced personnel Ability to integrate moderately complex hardware and software systems Ability to work independently and as part of a team Remote Work Authorized: No Relocation Assistence: Not Available Clearance Level: Secret
