Employee Communications Professional / Part-Time Work Job in Sterling, Virginia US
Corporate Shared Services (CSS) is seeking a communications professional to assist with a wide range of employee communication activities . This is an excellent opportunity for an individual with excellent writing, editing, and creative skills. Position is a PART-TIME opportunity, up to 28 hours/weekly.
CSS provides internal back office support to 43,000 U.S.-based employees in the areas of payroll, HR benefits and general services, reimbursements, employee relations, compensation, and accounts payable procurement. The CSS communications team coordinates and implements employee communication programs to disseminate news and information to employees within the company.
Areas of Responsibilities
Write and edit employee communications for email print distribution and website.
Assist with writing, editing, and formatting of internal newsletters for electronic distribution.
Assist with the preparation of training materials.
Assist with CSS initiatives, projects, and events.
Assist with the design and development of fliers, brochures, and presentations.
Study, learn, and follow established corporate brand and editorial guidelines.
Assist with coordination and communication plan development.
Conduct photo research and propose concept ideas for website, projects, and campaigns.
Assists with the logistics and distribution of communications materials to targeted audiences.
Coordinate and prepare distribution lists for broadcast communications.
Assist with content maintenance of CSS website and C3 spaces.
Work with business unit and CSS departments/management to gathering information for the preparation of communication materials.
Ensures accuracy, timeliness and relevancy of communications.
Interviews individuals, attends meetings, and conducts research to obtain information, verify facts, and clarify content.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Bachelor's degree in communications, business administration, English, journalism or related field preferred
- Five or more years of communications experience
- Experience working with communications practices, principles and procedures
- Experience working with various publishing software including Quark, Photoshop, Front Page and/or Microsoft Word
Other Qualifications
Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills
Attention to detail a must
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team environment
Competency in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher, Access) with a high level proficiency in Microsoft Word
Strong organizational, time management, and creative problem solving skills
Knowledge of Web and graphic tools (i.e., Adobe Creative Suite including Dreamweaver, Fireworks, Photoshop, and Illustrator and HTML)
