Employment Case Worker

 

Use your employment case management skills to assist newly arrived youth into employment, in a part-time role worked in both Elizabeth and the Adelaide CBD.

 

The Anglicare Job Star Program is part of the Newly Arrived Youth Support Service (NAYSS). The program provides employment support services to young people who are newly arrived in Australia, to enable them to become job ready.  The role supports each participant to identify and secure suitable community engagement activities, the goal being to increase confidence and with the case manager’s assistance, to gain volunteering, work experience and ideally employment. 

 

Duties include

·         Providing employment support services using a combination of group work, learning, supervised job search, site visits, interview techniques, work experience and individual employment support.

·         Delivering the Job Star program, which entails supporting each team member to identify and secure suitable work experience placements, thereby increasing their confidence. The goal of which is to assist participants to gain employment.

·         Providing follow up to participants once they are engaged in activities.

 

Our preferred candidate will be an experienced youth worker who is passionately committed to assisting people into appropriate employment.  They will have a proven track record assisting with development of action plans, sourcing information and referrals and being hands on in their approach.

 

Crucial to the success of the role are excellent interpersonal skills, an empathic nature and communication skills which easily build rapport and a sense of trust with people from diverse backgrounds and experiences.  Other essential requirements include a current Australian driver’s licence and access to a reliable, insured vehicle (for which a generous mileage allowance will be paid).  Experience in employment case management will be viewed as highly advantages.
