Employment Rep - Temporary Replacement

EMPLOYMENT REP Temporary Replacement Columbia District - Seattle Division The Seattle Division's Human Resources Department has an opening for an Employment Rep (temporary replacement for 4 months with the possibility of transitioning to a regular position), located in Spokane, WA. This is a non-union, full time, salaried position. The District Employment Rep is responsible for overseeing all aspects of recruiting and hiring for assigned retail stores. The Employment Rep reports directly to the District HR Representative. Qualifications: 1. BS/BA degree preferred 2. PHR or SPRH current certification preferred. 3. 1 to 2 years experience in Human Resources including employment, recruitment, interviewing, and hiring. 4. 2+ years retail experience 5. Knowledge of Federal and State Employment Laws 6. Proficient in MS Word, Excel and Outlook 7. Excellent communication skills: written, oral and listening. Presentation and one-on-one coaching skills 8. Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and work in a rapidly changing environment 9. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to assess situations and people 10. Excellent internal and external customer service skills 11. High degree of initiative/motivation and sense of business urgency 12. Ability to think strategically and conceptually while managing details 13. Ability to work independently, but a strong team player Key Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: ? Coordinate activities of In-Store Recruiters (ISR) such that store hiring needs are met in a timely manner, record keeping is properly maintained and reports are accurately completed in a timely manner ? Monitor job orders and master Virtual Edge High Volume hiring program, to ensure that hiring needs are met in a timely manner, provide feedback to ISR's and operations ? Develop and coordinate the hiring action plans for remodels and new store openings with retail management ? Train and monitor performance of all district ISR's ? Track and insure all on boarding programs are taking place in the district. ? Manage the job posting program for the district ? Establish, maintain and foster relationships with employment referral sources (High Schools, Colleges, Non-Profit Minority Agencies, Vocational Rehabilitation Agencies and counselors) ? Coordinate recruitment efforts (i.e. Job Fairs, presentations, etc.) ? Coordinate advertisements in newspapers, with agencies, community based organization, schools, colleges, universities ? Develop and initiate programs to fill retail openings ? Schedule on-site interviews; may include evening/weekend hiring hours ? Communicate effectively with District,store managers and ISR's as needed ? Identify, initiate and develop programs to improve employment programs in the district ? Hiring and recruitment focus should strive towards a balanced workforce and meeting the Diversity goals for the district ? Support and implement Safeway's Strategic Diversity Initiative ? Administrative reporting to include; hiring vs. turnover numbers, EEO Applicant/Hire documentation, month end reports ?
