Energy Analyst recruitment
This is an exciting and high profile opportunity for an individual with buy or sell side financial markets experience, including the coverage of the oil, gas and power sectors, to contribute and drive forward our new EnergyView product. We are seeking a driven and credible individual who will contribute to the success of the product, and cultivate a pipeline of business across the European markets.
The Principal Researcher (Energy Analyst) will be required to immediately contribute to client interaction and research, launching a daily deliverable of energy news and analysis to reach our UK and European clients before the markets open. Our client base primarily consists of hedge funds, private equity firms, and pension funds, and this individual will be required to work with our wider global energy research teams in order to succesfully operate as the UK/Europe-based first point of contact for client calls and requests.
This position will involve research and writing in order to contribute to the daily and weekly deliverables sent to clients, and so the Principal Researcher will need to be comfortable producing written analysis.
Specific Job Duties:
• Read and remain current on all IHS energy research in order to include this in EnergyView deliverables and present key trends and topics to clients.
• Work with the EnergyView research team to write daily and weekly research summaries and contribute to special reports.
• Send out a daily research summary every morning to European and UK clients.
• Proactively communicate the IHS research messages to existing and potential clients using phone, email, voicemail, conference calls etc.
• Work closely with our London-based sales colleagues to renew current clients and to reach out to prospects for EnergyView sales.
To be considered for this role, individuals must have buy or sell side financial markets experience, including the coverage of the oil, gas and power sectors, and be degree educated in a finance, economics, statistics or engeering related subject. CFA qualification would be highly desirable. The successful candidate will have experience of operating in a demanding client-facing role, possessing excellent presentation and interpersonal skills. An element of travel will be required, and candidates must be comfortable travelling internationally as required by the needs of the business.
