The Role
Bloomberg has created a new web-based information product, Bloomberg Government, that reports on, analyzes, and quantifies the impact of government actions on business and industry. It brings the same unparalleled level of fact-based, objective reporting and analysis to policymaking as Bloomberg has provided to the financial community for the past 27 years.

Bloomberg Government is seeking an Energy Analyst to help produce rich, in-depth information for this online product on the implications of government actions for business and industry, especially for the oil and gas industry. The analyst will join an industry-focused team of other analysts to deliver high-quality content to customers. This role's primary responsibility will be to assess and, where possible, quantify the impacts of government actions on business and industry, working closely and collaboratively with editors, reporters and other analysts. The Energy Analyst will:

- Research, analyze and quantify economic impacts of governmental actions
-Write and issue reports on anticipated government actions, upcoming events, or potential legislative and regulatory outcomes
- Build quantitative models with extensive scenario-driven analysis to assess the impact of potential outcomes
-Work with other analysts and editors to generate industry and business-specific content
-Outline potential policy scenarios and assess the likely impact of each scenario

Qualifications
-MBA or MS/MA in Economics, Finance or Public Policy
-Solid business and financial acumen; a deep understanding of the fundamental principles of economics and finance
-At least 6-10 years of energy policy experience or comparable business experience in oil and gas sector
- Exceptional statistical skills and an ability to present and explain complex analyses in an intuitive manner
-Strong writing skill and the ability to translate in-depth analysis into insightful studies
- Ability to analyze and work with large databases using SAS, STATA, SPLUS or similar statistical package a plus
-A deep understanding of the political, legislative and regulatory processes
-Ability to thrive in an entrepreneurial and fast-paced environment
-Comfortable in an open-office environment
