Ingersoll Rand’s Climate Solutions sector delivers energy-efficient HVACR solutions for customers globally. Its world class brands include Hussmann, a manufacturer of refrigeration and food merchandising solutions, Thermo King, the leader in transport temperature control and Trane, provider  of energy efficient heating, ventilating and air conditioning systems, building and contracting services, parts support and advanced controls for homes and commercial buildings.

Global Services and Contracting is tasked with leading Trane's contracting business through the development and implementation of the standards, processes and tools needed to ensure that Trane enjoys a leadership position in the contracting business.  Trane's contracting business includes controls contracting, turnkey construction contracts and comprehensive solutions projects consisting of large turnkey contracts, performance contracts, Federal contracts and build-own-operate-maintain contracts.  The Energy Engineer's responsibilities also include enabling the consistent delivery of Comprehensive Solutions by the Trane commercial distribution and delivering these solutions directly to customers whose needs exceed the capacity of any given Trane District Office.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES (others may be added):

- Function as a key member of the Project Development team.
- Provide technical analysis/review for CCS projects
- Accurately assess and provide feedback on project engineering risk.
- Perform building walk-throughs and identify energy conservation measures (architectural, mechanical, electrical, etc.) in commercial, institutional and industrial facilities.
- Effectively develop scopes of work for, and manage consulting engineers performing Investment Grade building audits.
- Effectively analyze and assess the economic impacts of utility company rate structures and supply.
- Effectively develop and perform customer presentations.
- Expert use of simulation software and spreadsheets to accurately represent pre and post retrofit building operation.
- Coach other members of the team in all aspects of energy engineering.
- Actively explore new technologies and develop presentations for the information of engineers and team members.
- Act as a technical resource for the engineering team on complex and advanced engineering projects
- Significant travel required.
- Consistently meet and exceed the needs of internal and external customers.

Min. Yrs. Experience:  5 years
Education Standard:  Bachelors Degree
Education Type:  Engineering or Engineering Technology


EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

- Bachelors Degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology and at least 5 years of energy engineering or commercial HVAC work experience required; OR an equivalent combination of education and work experience required.
