Reporting to the Director of Administration, Facilities Management and Health and Safety, you will be responsible for development of a Detailed Energy Management Plan for energy efficiency gains across all Giant Tiger stores in Ontario. The Energy Manager will identify potential energy efficiency projects to meet strict energy reduction annual targets within the chain and work to ensure annual targets are reached.
Responsibilities will include:
    Identify, assess, prioritize and recommend to senior management energy-saving opportunity projects including both capital improvement projects and operational and maintenance changes
    Coordinate the implementation of energy-saving projects, including the planning, budgeting and scheduling for design, installation, commissioning and verification.
    Review new store equipment and building specifications to locate energy alternatives
    Develop a strategy for the measurement and verification of energy saving projects and provide a database and an ongoing energy tracking and monitoring system for each facility/process that captures current monthly energy consumption and an electrical load inventory of major equipment
    Work to create and foster a sustainable energy management culture through an Employee Awareness Program including an avenue for employees to present issues and ideas.
Requirements:
    Professionally designated as a certified engineering technician or technologist, certified energy manager, or a licensed professional engineer in the province of Ontario
    Minimum five years of program coordination and energy efficiency project experience or equivalent
    Must have a valid Class G drivers license
    Strong computer skills, proficient in MS Office suite of products
    Experience in conducting research and identifying potential efficiency projects 
    Excellent interpersonal skills, i.e. tact and diplomacy, and the ability to build relationships
    Strong presentation skills and skilled negotiator
    Strong written and verbal skills in English
    Results oriented with the ability to multi-task and manage multiple priorities
    Independent, organized, self motivated and with excellent problem solving skills
