World leading software vendor seeking knowledgeable Consultant - must have knowledge or experience in a commodity such as; energy, oil, gas, power, coals, agricultural products and metals. Knowledge of an ETRM (Energy Trading and Risk Management) system is highly desirable.

At Harrington Starr we are currently working with the world leader in the provision of ETRM (Energy Trading and Risk Management) systems and commodities trading industry crossing a number of financially and physically traded products (oil, gas, power, coal, metals, ags, freight).

Their bespoke solutions are used in a range of trading organisations including energy utilities companies, trading houses and investment banks.

The successful candidate for the ETRM consultant (Commodities, Energy, Power, Oil, Gas, Coal, Metals, Software) role will gain invaluable industry knowledge across the ETRM and commodities trading industry as well as gaining significant specific software knowledge.

The ETRM Consultant/ Business Analyst (Commodities, Energy, Power, Oil, Gas, Coal, Metals, Software) will:

* Be placed on client site to both represent the vendor and assist in the successful planning of the software design and implementation
* Gather requirements and provide functional/technical specs
* Need to consult thoroughly with both the business and technical teams (as each system solution is bespoke, the person in this role will need to take detailed requirements from the client and produce UAT test plans, GAP analysis and functional specifications heavily tailored to what the client is trying to achieve)
* Consult and assist in the delivery and implementation of my client's ETRM system into commodity trading houses and prop trading houses all over Europe.

To apply for the position of ETRM/ Energy Software Consultant you must have the following:

* Bachelors degree in Business, Management Information Systems, Computer Science/Engineering or closely related field
* 12 months experience in database administration and design, SQL, and/or Crystal Report writing.
* An enthusiastic self-starter with proven problem solving skills.
* Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
* Excellent oral and written communication skills.
* Dynamic presentation skills and the ability to train others.
* Extensive knowledge of Windows 2000/ XP,MS Windows products, Crystal Reports, and SQL.
* Extensive knowledge in C#, C++ and .NET
* Energy Industry Knowledge Desirable
