This position is responsible to provide leadership, vision, management, and direction to the District Commissioning Team resources to drive sales, profit, and growth goals - while continually improving quality and customer services levels, employee engagement and team leader effectiveness levels within the Energy Solutions and EESS groups. The essential functions of this position include Serving as the primary representative of the firm and the single most visible person that clients will deal with each day. Duties will include successful management and execution of commissioning and energy-related projects, as well as related business development tasks such as generating fee proposals. This position requires significant client interaction. Significant tasks also include scheduling, document preparation, inspections and testing, report generation, problem resolution, quality assurance, and development of sales opportunities. Typically this position is filled by persons who have been continuously employed by EMC for 5 years or more, or by persons who can demonstrate a record of successful project execution and leadership according to EMC core principles and values. . Assist regional manager in developing an effective and skilled staff through recruiting, assessment of talent (find gaps and follow action plans to fill gaps), training development, goal setting, communications, performance appraisal, and conformance to applicable company policies. Provide leadership and direction to ensure professional growth for employees and retention within the region. Acts as a technical mentor and back up for field personnel. Acts as a leadership mentor for employees in supervisory or manager of people roles - or employees that aspire to get to develop into these type roles.. . Assure the safety of employees who work in low, medium, and high voltage work environments. Ensures strict compliance with safety policies, trains and implements safety programs, ensures safety equipment resources are available and properly tested, acts as a safety liaison with customers, ensures proper disposal of hazardous and non hazardous materials . Effectively manages diverse and dispersed field based workforce in assigned geographic territory, which may include multiple project locations. Responsible for office building issues. Demonstrates good corporate citizenship. Assures the security and effective allocation of company resources and assets. . Contribute to the division solution/process improvement initiatives. . Drive business growth through innovation and development of new solutions, services, value propositions, and/or market strategies. Knowledgeable and experienced in implementing commissioning project delivery method, 3 years managing commissioning personnel, no less than 3 years direct responsibility managing commissioning projects, and demonstrated capacity to delivery service within expected project budgets and attain standard profit margins . Possess very strong verbal and written communication skills - and a collaborative interpersonal style. . Demonstrated ability to lead people and manage a fiscal entity. . Highly proficient with a PC including the Microsoft Applications and Willingness to travel - this is a district position within a region and most travel is within the district, typically with 3-4 hour drive or less . Possess strong leadership competencies and willingness to collaborate and work cross-functionally to maximize business results and positive customer experiences. . Possess strong interpersonal skills and strong business acumen - including ability to performance financial analysis, manage a Profit Loss, and drive disciplined business and forecasting processes. . Only local candidates will be considered. Basic Qualifications (Including Educational Requirements) Basic Qualifications: . Bachelor's of Science Degree from an accredited educational institution . PE License required . Minimum of 3 years commissioning process management experience utilizing applicable standards . Minimum of 5 years aggregate experience in leading and performing commissioning services for building systems . Must be a US Citizen . Only candidates currently residing within a 50 mile radius of the Falls Church, VA area will be considered Preferred Qualifications: . Certified Commissioning Professional (CCP) highly preferred . Certified Commissioning Authority (CxA) or Building System Commissioning Certification (BSC) accepted .
