Energy & Utilities Credit Analyst recruitment
To their market leading Energy and Utilities team based out of London the role will cover a portfolio of deals across all European countries.
Role Overview:
As a member of the EMEA Energy, Utilities Regulation Group, you will take proactive lead analytical responsibility for a varied portfolio of corporate in the utility sector (regulated and non-regulated). You will conduct meetings with and analyze the creditworthiness of issuers in the sector. The role will also involve some analytical support to business development activities, interaction with issuers, investors and bankers, and will entail some travel.
The current portfolio envisaged comprises a lead analytical role for a minimum of 10 names in total, and an equivalent number of back-up names. The exact portfolio assumed will be tailored to suit the individual's skills and experience and may be amended over time. The opportunity exists for the individual to expand the portfolio and to broaden their overall knowledge to incorporate all aspects of energy, utilities and transportation.
Candidate Requirements:
- Good knowledge of, or a keen interest in, the (regulated) utilities industry.
- Strong analytical skills and demonstrable experience in a credit, corporate finance, or execution role within a commercial or investment bank/ financial institution, or a background in the utilities industry or in a regulatory institution.
- Some experience of structured / project finance would be an advantage.
- Good written and verbal communications skills.
- Fluent written and spoken English. Additional language skills would be an advantage
- A financial based professional qualification (e.g. MBA / ACA / CIMA / CFA) would be a plus.
- Cash-flow modellking and accounting skills.
- A strong team spirit, enabling him/her to work seamlessly with other members of the EMEA team.
