As an Engagement Manager, you will understand the client’s business and technology processes, devise solutions and applying relevant technologies with a keen emphasis on client satisfaction and return on investment.
Engagement Manager Job descriptions:
Engagement Managers are responsible for the entire relationship with a client, and for overall project management and delivery of large complex projects. Engagement Managers manage, mentor and develop staff and staff managers working for them. The Engagement Manager is deeply involved with other aspects of the business, such as business development and recruiting, including:
Business Development – 25%
- Works with ISS Business Development to understand client needs, develop and present proposals. Identifies business development opportunities on current engagements both on-shore and off-shore.
- Expected to bring specific industry expertise and general business acumen to bear in solving client problems, driving and shaping business development opportunities with new and existing clients.
Client/Engagement Management – 50%
- Structures and manages integrated programs and/or projects to meet client business drivers. Clarifies and enforces accountability and goal-setting for project leads of all disciplines, balancing scope, time, cost and quality while exceeding client expectations.
- Builds relationships at all levels - with clients, peers and teams. Secures the appropriate project staffing. Ensures the execution of project reviews.
Senior Management Team – 25 %
- Manages to company and branch level profitability objectives and measurements (e.g. revenue, gross margin, average bill rate, utilization, operating income.)
The engagement manager will also have the following experience levels:
• 10-15 years direct experience consulting to investment banks and financial services firms in the metro NY area with a proven track record in a small number of firms
• Experience partnering with business development team in maintaining and growing relationships within key accounts
• Responsibility for a managing a revenue based book of business within a key account and increasing the consulting headcount on projects within the client environment
• Deep understanding of the various asset classes and their trade flows including equities, fixed income, and derivatives
• Understanding of institutional and retail business within investment banks including brokerage, wealth management, and asset management
• Strong presence and superior consulting and communication skills
