ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY
ENGINE CALIBRATION ENGINEER
The OBD Calibration Group of the Toyota Technical Center Division (TTC) has a current opportunity for an Engine Calibration Engineer to meet expanding responsibilities for engine development and calibration projects. This position requires an enthusiastic, hardworking self starter to join our talented engineering team located in Gardena, CA approximately 15 miles south of Los Angeles, CA.
The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
- Perform engine control system testing in accordance with procedures
- Develop new procedures for testing
- Diagnose engine control system problems and develop calibration or software logic countermeasures
- Data collection, analysis and reporting
- Generate and present technical reports
- Manage software and calibration changes to meet deadlines
- Interface with other vehicle departments
- BS degree in mechanical or electrical engineering
- 5-10 years of Engine Calibration experience
- OBD Calibration experience in the following area(s); Air fuel ratio senor, O2 senor, Catalyst, Misfire,
- Evaporative systems, Cold start, etc.
- Familiar with OBD regulatory requirements from CARB, EPA and /or other markets in the world.
- Combustion courses and understanding of IC engine theory and practice
- Ability to read / write C programming
- Experience with data acquisition and calibration equipment
- Proficient with standard PC software
- Ability to work with minimal instruction and supervision
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Ability to work well in teams in a culturally diverse environment
- Excellent driving record required.
- Ability to work overtime, approximately 25% travel may be required (including international travel)
