Job Summary: This individual will be a member of the Product Engineering organization supporting the Internet Systems Engineering team. This person will be part of a growing team that will support Comcast's anti-abuse and monitoring systems. The responsibilities for this position include the design and support of systems used for the detection of malware and violations of acceptable use policies as well as the customer notification systems. This work will include teaming with vendors, investigating and testing new technologies, developing new policies and systems, and performing operational activities including monitoring and reporting. Tasks: - Develops solutions to a wide range of difficult applications, problems or procedures. - Uses applied engineering concepts, skills and methodologies to help promote and embrace change. - Works on small projects and issues within the group. - Serves as a technical resource. - Contributes to hands-on engineering. - Works on projects and tasks ensuring desired results. - Consistent exercise of independent judgment and discretion in matters of significance. - Regular, consistent and punctual attendance. Must be able to work nights and weekends, variable schedule(s) as necessary. - Other duties and responsibilities as assigned. - Support design, and development of anti-abuse and notification systems. - Analyze business requirements and build supporting technical requirements. - Work with vendors and operations team to implement and maintain anti-abuse and notification systems. - Monitor and analyze system performance to identify issues, functional limitations and areas of improvement. - Evaluate, develop and maintain dashboards and KPIs - perform data analysis. - Provide support for lab environment and the testing of system design and new technology. - Review forums and social media posts to identify customer feedback and potential services related issues and work with customers as needed to resolve issues. - Develop and maintain supporting system documentation. - Research technologies to support project needs. - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Engineering, or equivalent in work experience and self-study. - Advanced degree is a plus. Requirements Requirements: - Bachelors Degree or Equivalent - Engineering, Computer Science - - Generally requires 0-2 years related experience - Solid written and oral communication skills. - Ability to learn quickly. - Experience with UNIX and Linux operating systems, such as RedHat is preferred. - Basic knowledge of Internet protocols and standards, including TCPIP, SMTP,POP3/IMAP4, LDAP, XML, SSL and HTTP is expected. - Experience with Java, JavaScript, and database design/administration is a plus. - Some knowledge of IP Networking (e.g., TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, NAT) is expected. - Experience with scripting languages such as Perl is a plus. - Ability to work in a team setting and effectively across groups. - Must be able to interpret requirements and follow instructions. - Must be able to track project timelines and deliverables.
