DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsible for providing engineering technical leadership, expertise and requirements on all instrumentation and electrical work for a first of its kind operating Biofuels Plant. Perform instrument and electrical engineering design, re-design, installation, and maintenance of existing electrical, instrumentation and control systems. Maintain DCS/PLC’s for the Plant. Work will include:
- Detail instrumentation and electrical engineering work for an operating plant.
- Development of instrumentation logic and loop diagrams.
- Development, design and maintenance of the electrical, IC systems.
- Selection, specification and inspection of electrical and instrumentation components.
- Procurement of required electrical and instrumentation to include preparing specifications, bid evaluations, bid tabulations, bid recommendations, etc.
- Compliance with design methods and safety factors to be used in design of each project.
- Operability of the Unit or Plant for start-up, turndown and shutdown modes. Review or set design basis for abnormal operating conditions.
- Manage maintenance project issues, budgets and schedules.
- Review and critique proposed changes to engineering standards, policies or details.
- Review development plans for compliance with adopted engineering standards and good engineering practices.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Requires a degree in Electrical and Instrumentation Engineering from an accredited college with 5 plus years of experience as an Electrical and Instrument Engineer (preferably in an operating plant).
- Must have a working knowledge of power systems up to 13.8 KV, medium and low voltage, switchgear, MCC’s, AC Drives, lighting and grounding.
- Must have knowledge of steam turbine utilization in power generation.
- Requires a knowledge of federal, state, and industry standards/specifications including IEEE, UL, FM, NFPA, etc.
