Engineer
POSITION TITLE: Engineer - CAE/PLM
DEPARTMENT POSITION IS LOCATED IN: RDE / Milford, Ct.
REPORTS TO: Engineering Manager or Director
POSITION SUMMARY:
With minimum supervision plan, implement, maintain and optimize the full range of CAD/CAE and PLM systems currently in use within the EPC wet shave businesses.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/SKILLS:
The essential functions include, but are not limited to:
1. Daily administration of duties required to ensure uninterrupted operation of all CAE/PLM systems
2. Develop and maintain CAD/CAE Standards and Best Practices with a focus on skills development for new and current user base
3. Testing and global coordination of software upgrades, evaluation of new software under consideration and management of outside suppliers as needed for upgrades and training.
4. Develop and administrate design and drafting automation procedures to improve productivity on Pro-E and SW CAD software.
5. Work with IT to optimize hardware platforms for CAD/CAE/PLM applications, manage print room and related applications
6. Strong skills in organization, communications ? focused attention to detail
7. Adaptability in changing environment
8. Track trends in technology and fit to EPC business
9. Coordinate and facilitate training for new applications, upgrades and new users.
FINANCIAL ACCOUNTABILITY:
Responsible for financial planning and budget for CAE and related functions
PRINCIPAL RELATIONSHIPS:
Inside the company:
Able to maintain strong partnership with IT, local CAD user community and all global affiliates ? status reports to management as required
Outside the company:
Work with outside suppliers to maintain and improve all CAE systems ensuring budgets and schedules are met
Supervisory:
Provides guidance and coaching to team and contract support as needed
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
? BS in Engineering
? 5+ Years of Experience in 3D CAD and PLM system administration
? Strong working knowledge of network computing and MS Windows applications
? Working knowledge of engineering documentation systems
Highly desirable:
? Pro-E, Solidworks and Teamcenter PLM experience
? Training and creation of training materials
? Engineering analysis applications experience ? ex: Mechanica, Moldflow, Cosmos, Motion Simulation etc.
