Description of Work:
Position Summary:

Provide dedicated engineering support to the catheter manufacturing value stream, ensuring that performance of the value stream meets or exceeds established objectives, including objectives relating to production volume, yield, quality and cost.

Duties Responsibilities:

Efficiently resolve problems impeding fulfillment of the daily production schedule or causing line down situations
Plan and execute activities to ensure the value stream meets or exceeds its established objectives, including objectives relating to production volume, yield, quality and cost
Establish methods to measure/monitor and report on the performance of the value stream (yields, scrap, process times, etc). Localize areas for improvement. Identify, implement and validate the improvements.
Originate and implement Lean Manufacturing initiatives
Plan and execute projects to duplicate or improve existing manufacturing lines and implement new manufacturing lines associated with new product introductions
Improve existing and develop new tooling and fixtures
Plan and perform process and equipment validations
Conduct Process FMEAs
Write process documentation and technical reports
Originate and implement Engineering Change Orders
Perform engineering evaluations and analyses to resolve NCMRs and CAPAs (root cause determination, identification of corrective and preventative actions), and implement associated corrective and preventative actions
Conduct training of operators and technicians
Determine equipment maintenance requirements schedules

Qualifications:

BS or Masters degree in Mechanical Engineering required
Minimum 3 years of progressively responsible work experience in a volume manufacturing organization, including engineering experience
Strong drive to deliver on committed objectives
Strong analytical, problem solving, project management and leadership skills
Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing concepts
Knowledge of GMP, ISO regulations
Experience in an FDA regulated manufacturing environment preferred
Strong computer, data analysis and report writing skills
