Job Description Site Engineer at a MGP remediation which involves 600 ft of slurry DNAPL barrier wall, 60,000CY of soil removal, dewatering and treatment, and DNAPL extraction. The candidate should be technical proficient in engineering principals and have previous background with engineering design and/or construction experience. The ideal candidate will successfully demonstrate achievement, proficiency, and progressive responsibility in the following areas: - Engineering support on construction sites - Collecting and evaluating environmental data in field and office settings - Using modeling principles and software to prepare engineering calculations - Preparing engineering design reports, drawings, and specifications - Technical report writing - Construction cost estimating - Identifying, preparing and demonstrating compliance with relevant permits - Independent field work and leadership of field teams - Contractor oversight Candidate must have a bachelor's degree in civil or environmental engineering (master's degree a plus) as well as 2 to 5 years of experience, preferably in environmental consulting. EIT certificate, AutoCAD experience, and OSHA 40-hour training preferred. Demonstration of knowledge or experience in one or more of the following areas is a plus: manufactured gas plant and railroad sites; New York/New Jersey environmental regulations; remedial design, contractor management and project management. The successful candidate will have a strong technical background; excellent written and verbal communication skills; effective organizational skills; proficiency in MS Office; time management skills; flexibility to work on a multitude of diverse projects; and an eagerness to acquire new skills and meet new challenges.
