Engineer IV, Structural- FUTURE NEED

Job Description Job Description The Orange office in Southern California is seeking a highly motivated senior level structural engineer who will be responsible for leading a small structural engineering team and participate in operation of the department. The successful candidate must be able to perform structural design and management of all types of buildings facility projects. Projects can include performance based seismic upgrade and retrofit of existing structures, vibration sensitive structure such as air traffic control tower and seismically isolated facilities. Must be technically competent in all aspects of structural engineering. Able to recommend appropriate design criteria and methodologies to ensure compliance with all local, state and federal regulations. Will be required to direct drafters/designers and less experience engineers. Must be able to lead large and complex project involving a team of engineers and designers. Education Minimum Master of science in Civil/Structural engineering Ph. D in Civil/Structural engineering with research experiences related to seismic design is preferred. Qualification/Experience 10-15 years of experience in structural design of steel and concrete buildings. Must have experience with seismic upgrade and retrofit of existing buildings. Experience with nonlinear performance based design and familiarity with passive energy dissipation device such as viscous dampers and base isolation is highly desirable. A record of successfully leading complex structural projects and effective working relationship with clients is also required. Active in local/regional or national professional/technical bodies. Software Knowledge / Skills Must be proficient in structural engineering programs such as ETABS, RAM, and SAP2000 . Knowledge of various building codes including IBC, CBC, ACI, AISC, FEMA, ASCE 31-03 and ASCE41-06 is required. Professional License SE license in the state of California. Compensation Based on qualification and experience.
