Position Description –

Supports Steelcase Athens LEAN sigma (quality and lean) objectives and serves as the customer
advocate in the total Supply Chain from our supplier base through product development and
manufacturing, to our customers.

Minimal relocation may be offered to the right candidate. 
 

 Primary Responsibilities –

Possesses and applies a broad knowledge of engineering quality and lean principles in the production processes in order to proactively prevent quality issues while ensuring lean principles are applied.

Evaluates quality assurance systems, procedures and statical techniques; designs or specifies

inspection testing mechanisms and equipment; analyzes production and service processes and

standards; recommends revision of specifications when indicated; provides input to LEAN sigma policies and procedures. Leads and mentors less experienced engineers. Leads complex or cross functional projects with other company engineers, customers and suppliers on strategic LEAN sigma related issues.

 

Skills and Abilities –

Education and Experience –

Masters degree with minimum of 4 years or Bachelors Degree or equivalent (i.e. minimum of 4-6 years in Industrial Engineering, Quality or Technical field or 2-4 years with an Associate's Degree) with a minimum of 6 years. Certified ASQ Engineering, Reliability Engineer or Black Belt with demonstrated ability to apply the specific Body of Knowledge.
