SENIOR PROJECT ENGINEER / TEAM LEADER San Diego-based Mechanical Engineering firm specializing in HVAC, Plumbing and Power Generation/Co-Generation Plants has an opening for an experienced Senior Project Engineer to be an ENGINEERING TEAM LEADER. The person to fill this role must be a team-builder, a mentor and able to coach a team of project engineers, designers, and CAD personnel; absolutely must have the ability to be an advisor to our clients and build strong and sustainable relationships with them. We require an intense customer service focus. This position will oversee and manage the flow of work of by the engineering team from project inception to its final completion, with emphasis on maintaining high quality product while providing superior client satisfaction. RESPONSIBILITIES The Engineering Team Leader responsibilities will include but not be limited to the following areas: 1. Team-builder, mentor and coach to their team. 2. Drive the focus to create and sustain quality results and customer service. 3. Maintain company Engineering and Design Practices and Standards -- quality assurance in both processes and procedures. 4. Oversee the updating of the current design standards and CAD standards and develop ongoing maintenance policies and procedures for each. 5. Assign, coordinate and schedule all incoming projects, to member of their as best suited for each project and each person's strengths. 6. All aspects of project management and design efforts on projects that are personally engineered and designed by himself/herself. 7. Review twice a year the performance of Team Members and provide recommendations on performance and salary evaluations to Director of Engineering, and Senior Management. 8. Assistance with proposal preparation, coordination, and review with Director Business Development. 9. Perform project quality assurance reviews on projects prior to construction. 10. Direct interview selection process
