Position Description:

Responsible for winning designs and managing accounts on a technical level.
Develop flash/disk host firmware for evaluating Marvell products and develop code for use in the customer drive application. Familiarity with ARM tools a strong plus.
Lead development effort for internal testing suite to maintain standard compliance, chip maturity and consistency. Covering all OOB and power mode related test cases to ensure early problem discovery.
Provides technical support to customers including customer visits and field design support.
Acts as a primary technical interface between the company and the customer.
Establishes Goals and Objectives with the sales staff and representatives of each target account. Qualifies design activity at the customer engineering level.
Participates in the definition of new products and the identification of niche areas that present new opportunities for Marvell.
Makes new product recommendations to Design/Marketing.

Qualifications:

Previous firmware coding background with 5+ years of development in HDD/SSD drive products with experience in the Host Interface PHY/Protocol area.
Extensive knowledge of communication protocols for physical layer devices, SATA, SAS, PCIe, USB and FC interfaces preferred.
Detailed understanding of PHY Block with coding experience in PHY initialization and parameter setup.
Able to debug issues on the bench or customer site for host/drive compatibility issues with protocol analyzers, logic analyzers and digital/analog oscilloscopes.
Previous firmware product development and FAE troubleshooting support preferred.
Excellent Firmware programming skills in C and Assembly. Knowledge with ARM tools a strong plus.
Ability to make technical presentations, application notes quickly get knowledgeable with company products.
Need to have a technical knowledge of flash or disk drive products. Knowledge of SSD Controllers w SLC and MLC NAND flash management knowledge a strong plus.
Uses professional concepts and company’s policies procedures to solve a wide range of difficult problems in imaginative and practical ways. Work on problems of diverse scope. Exercise judgment with generally defined practices and policies.
MSEE/MSCS preferred.
