BE Aerospace, Inc. located in Everett, WA has the following position to fill: SYSTEMS ENGINEER Summary/Job Description : Performs complex assignments often requiring development and decomposition of new specifications and requirements. Assesses feasibility and soundness of proposed engineering requirements and specifications. The position requires an ability to interpret, on a broad basis, the principles, theories, and concepts of an engineering specialty. Essential Duties Responsibilities: Documents, structures, and distributes all regulatory, customer, and internal requirements to configure, control, verify, and validate product design to stated requirements. Reviews and accepts test and qualification programs, ensures all documentation is complete and accurate, and develops and maintains all requirements management tools. Responsible for baseline development, distribution, change management, technical risk analysis, and acceptance verification of all requirements for a program. Directs preparation of appropriate documentation for assigned programs. Position requires experience preparing specifications, managing requirements databases, and reviewing qualification/certification documents. Coordinates with engineering, manufacturing and certification groups as well as the customer and regulatory agencies during the extent of a program. Reviews project-related documentation to ensure its accuracy. Participates in professional organizations to maintain current knowledge of technical innovations. Assists in determining project objectives to contribute to the development of a comprehensive project design. Performs other related duties as required. Education /or Experience: Bachelor's degree in Engineering from four-year college or university; and minimum five years related experience and/or training. Experience with IBM DOORS or equivalent requirements management tool is required. Experience with Teamcenter or equivalent PDM/PLM software is required. Participation in INCOSE or similar professional organization preferred. Language Skills: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, associates, clients, customers, and the general public. Mathematical Skills: Ability to apply advanced mathematical concepts such as exponents, logarithms, quadratic equations, and permutations. Ability to apply mathematical operations to such tasks as frequency distribution, determination of test reliability and validity, analysis of variance, correlation techniques, sampling theory, and factor analysis. Reasoning ability: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
