The Department of General Services is seeking an experienced executive to lead its Division of Engineering Buildings (DEB).  This is the Commonwealth’s Building Code Official the senior facilities’ management position for the department.  Guided by the Code of Virginia through a staff of over 200 employees in two bureaus, administers the statewide capital outlay program facilities management for the historic seat of government.  Requires extensive executive level managerial experience; comprehensive experience in: construction project management; managing maintenance operation of large commercial and/or government campuses; managing personnel w/ a broad range of technical backgrounds experience; budget development fiscal management.  The division is funded by rent fees; therefore, significant business acumen is necessary.  Comprehensive knowledge of: architecture engineering principles, construction methods, building codes, facility maintenance practices, state government organizational structure legislative processes required.  Must be a licensed professional engineer or architect.  Degree from accredited college or university in engineering discipline or architecture.  Masters degree in Business or Public Admin pref.  Fingerprint-based criminal background check Statement of Economic Interest required.  Anticipated hiring range $120,000 - $140,000.
