Engineering Apprenticeship

“I want a career with one of the UK’s leading energy providers.”

When you join E.ON as an engineering apprentice on our four-year Electrical Control Instrumentation programme, you’ll take the first step on a journey to becoming an electrical engineer. You’ll gain a BTEC Level 3 Diploma and an NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Controls and Instrumentation, as well as a wealth of experience and engineering skills, important milestones on your way to becoming a professionally qualified electrical engineer.

As an Engineering Apprentice, I want to gain valuable skills and experience

You’ll do that from your base at Ratcliffe-on-Soar power station. Learning from experienced engineers, you’ll gain expertise about plant engineering, both in theory and in practice. Once you’ve learned the theory, we’ll make sure you get the chance to apply your knowledge. Ultimately, you’ll have a rounded experience that will open up more career opportunities to you, both in E.ON and beyond.

As an Apprentice – Electrical Controls Instrumentation, I want to make full use of my…

• 5 A/B grades at GCSE in English, Maths, Science or technology (or equivalent)
• Keen interest in engineering and strong desire to develop my academic and practical skills.

It sounds like E.ON is a company that’s pushing boundaries?

As one of the UK’s leading power and gas companies with 12,000 people in the UK and 85,000 worldwide, we set ourselves big challenges. We’re one of the leading green generators in the UK with 20 wind farms and the country’s largest biomass power station. We’re also investing £50m in new technologies and approaches over ten years. The science is impressive, but everything we do is driven by people. We want to deliver the best possible value to our customers, and the most rewarding experiences to our teams. Is it time you got on board?
