Engineering Assistant (Coordinator) Job in Houston, Texas US

We are a growing specialized design and manufacturer of custom cable and cable assemblies for land and marine geophysical and geotechnical exploration applications.  As well, we provide hose and umbilical solutions for a variety of underwater and harsh environment applications. 

The Engineering Coordinator shall support the Engineering Department with various duties within the department including but not limited to, under the direction of Vice President of Engineering, creation of BOM’s, preparation of drawings, record keeping, product research and updating changes to documentation.

 

Essential Job Functions

 

1.      Building and maintaining the bill of materials (BOM) and routers in ERP system for process flow.

2.      Liaise between Engineering and Production ensuring accuracy of BOM.

3.      Assist in creating item masters, costing structures and convert Engineering Change Request (ECR) to Engineering Change Notice (ECN).

4.      Coming up with master data records for new company products and overseeing the maintenance of existing records for new projects.

5.      Create designs in AutoCAD.

6.      Filing and maintenance of engineering drawings including all revisions.

7.      Perform component and materials research via product catalogs and internet searches.

8.      Be able to communicate on a technical level with supplier’s engineering group.

 

Job Requirements

 

1.      Associates Degree – Engineering or 2 - 5 years related experience

2.      Excellent data entry skills and organizational skills

3.      Knowledge of ERP systems, MS Office, AutoCAD, Global Shop Solutions

4.      Ability to read engineering drawings a plus
