Job title: Engineering Buyer
Salary/Rate: £26000-£28000 per annum
Area: Dorset
A leading process equipment manufacturer currently requires the services of an Engineering Buyer to procure materials and services necessary to achieve the new project fulfilment programme in a timely, compliant and cost effective manner.
Responsibilities:
• Place orders with suppliers in line with the company purchasing policy to achieve material requirements
• Co ordinate with other departments as necessary to forecast, plan and supply demand to relevant specification, budget, schedule and quality standards
• Place orders on and manage sub-contract work to service providers of machining, fabrication carbon, painting and finishing according to schedule agreed with project teams
• Manage the schedule and booking UK transport of all materials and services
Person specification:
• Experience of procurement and manufacturing best practise is essential
• Experience of metal forming/cutting/fabrication companies would be highly desirable
• Ability to read drawings and specifications is essential
• Understand needs for timeliness and compliance with specification requirements
