Engineering Electronic Catalog Analyst
As a part of the Supply Chain Services organization, the Senior Catalog Analyst will be responsible for creating and maintaining engineering specific article master records and the overall electronic catalog used for procurement for the Network Engineering organization. Coordinates key stakeholders for standardizing engineering equipment wherever possible. Also serves as a liaison between Network Engineering, Strategic Sourcing, Procurement Operations, Fixed Asset Accounting, Standards Audits and Network Operations. Requires a strong understanding and knowledge of Engineering articles/processes and proactively works with the engineering vendors to update bills of materials, product part number changes, revision control, pricing, upgrades in existing technology, and introduction of new technology.
- Act as a liaison between network engineering vendors and engineering associates to understand purchasing needs, processes and insure appropriate functionality of electronic catalog.
- Work with key engineering vendors to reconcile their Network equipment portfolio with U.S. Cellular article master, as relevant to the Engineering products (articles)
- Perform article attribute rationalization (price, equipment revision etc.) and master data maintenance activities, including master data for the vendor, material, and commodity codes.
- Create and maintain bills of materials and engineering product catalog used for all engineering procurement and manage all updates.
- Liaison between technical teams to ensure the entire business requirement for catalog purchasing are gathered and communicated.
- Hold and lead periodic cross functional SME group workshops to enhance catalog rationalization and standardization
- Support clients with catalog order processing and order status
- Interface with warehouse and assets accounting with respect to article setup and asset lifecycle management
- Work cross-functionally to ensure the article attributes in the article master adhere to the set article and fixed asset guidelines
- Communicate changes in standard equipment, preferred vendors, relevant process to affect clients
- Monitor and communicate compliance to contract and catalogs
- Ensure ongoing maintenance of software occurs and guaranteed system up time
- B.S. required ( M.S. preferred) Engineering or Computer Science required
- 5-7 years experience or an equivalent combination of education and telecom/wireless experience required
- 3 + years as a Project Manager with emphasis on Technical Project Management required
- A strong technical background in CDMA wireless network is preferred
- 5 + years experience in SAP and purchasing preferred including master data management
- Ability to lead teams and manage large projects required
- Must have superior peer leadership skills, as well as excellent verbal and written communication skills, and the aptitude to take on more leadership responsibility over time as required.
- Must have a high degree of comfort with designing and executing equipment catalog policies and procedures.
- Excellent inter-personal skills and the ability to partner with Engineering, Network Operations, Accounting and equipment Vendors required.
- Excellent Excel and analytical skills required
