Engineering Maintenance Services Manager

Salary: 40-45K Dependant on experience + Bonus + Pension + Life Insurance + Car + Healthcare + Relocation
My client is ranked in the World’s Top 10 Fine Chemical Companies with revenues of $647 million. They are a growing business providing a wide range of products and services for pharmaceutical and biopharmaceutical companies to develop and commercialise small-molecule APIs and biologic drug products.
Having significantly expanded their contract manufacturing services over the past 5 years through major investment and acquisitions, they are looking to recruit an Engineering Maintenance Manager to join their successful team.
The Role:
This role is responsible for managing the engineering and maintenance team and contractors, maintaining and repairing facilities and systems, and ensuring their continuous availability to the business, in all of these activities ensuring that HS+E and quality requirements are always met.
The role will also support the delivery of capital investment projects as required to meet departmental needs.
§ With extensive experience in the chemical processing industry, preferably fine organic chemicals or pharmaceutical; you will Manage and organise the maintenance team efficiently, ensuring maximum production equipment availability and that the building facilities are maintained in good condition.
§ You will manage and maintain the Planned Preventative Maintenance system to ensure the system provides adequate maintenance, equipment meets the requirements of corporate principles and HS+E regulations, is GMP compliant and audit ready at all times.
§ Providing appropriate response to equipment breakdowns and failures to minimize down-time. You will Identify breakdown and failure root causes and implement preventative actions.
§ Whilst ensuring the standards of work carried out by the maintenance team within the building are compliant with all applicable and current safety, environmental and quality standards. You will Control the department expenditures in line with the building’s budget and goals.
§ With the exception of contracts relating to analytical equipment, the management of all the building’s maintenance service contracts, seeking best value for money and technical assurance will be your responsibility.
§ You will be accountable for the Company HS+E policy and the generation of Key Performance Indicators for the department and monitor performance against these.
§ Provide costs and other information to support CapEx projects within the building. Lead CapEx implementation where applicable.
§ Generation of appropriate Permit to Works including hot work and confined space.
The Requirements:
· Minimum BSc in an engineering discipline such as Chemical Engineering
· Extensive experience in the chemical processing industry, preferably fine organic chemicals or pharmaceutical; significant experience within a GMP manufacturing environment. Team leadership experience.
§ Current safety and environmental regulations e.g. pressure systems regulations, ATEX,
§ Current best engineering practice
§ Sound knowledge of engineering requirements for cGMP
§ Good understanding of cost effective preventative maintenance strategies to minimise equipment down time.
§ Computer literate including familiarity with computer aided design tools.
§ Hands on approach to troubleshooting process and equipment failures.
§ Strong interpersonal and people management skills
