ROLE SUMMARY:

Effectively manage customer projects, which support business strategic initiatives.  Value creation comes from the application of sound business principles and engineering expertise in order to develop, design and prepare funding requests, execute and close out projects.

 

PRIMARY ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES:

Prepare and administer the engineering budget.

Define and develop project scopes and the cost estimates along with a description of the features needed to fulfill the needs and requirements.  Prepare detailed construction work packages. Identify all technical, scheduling and cost issues with projects and solicit assistance as needed.

 

Develop equipment/project specifications for any material required for successful project completion.,  Coordinate efforts with Purchasing Department to requisition, bid and acquire needed materials for project construction.

 

Coordinate efforts of all engineering disciplines on the project team insuring that the detail design is completed in a timely and cost efficient manner.  Serve as a technical resource to construction crew to interpret plans, specification and schedules.

 

Submit detailed reports concerning the status of projects with respect to engineering, procurement, cost, construction, and adherence to schedule insuring that each project is completed within the approved appropriation and/or guidelines.

 

Present project reviews as requested or needed by business team members, including reviews of all drawings, specifications and equipment inquiries.  Manager inventory in the engineering warehouse.

 

Coordinate efforts with other department in the training of employees and staff necessary to support this position.  Manage the performance and development of direct reports and conduct annual performance reviews.

 

SAFETY RESPONSIBILITY:

Evaluate health and safety issues of project using the SETCO process.

Participate in development of the Safety, Health and Environmental Policies and Programs.  Provide leadership in the implementation and coordination of these programs.  Comply with all areas of the company Safety Program and consistently enforce all safety rules and regulations.  Ensure proper PPE is used and industrial hygiene guidelines are followed.

JOB SCOPE:

Manage the ICM engineering team to optimize feed technology to expand market capability.

 

SKILL REQUIREMENTS:

BS degrees in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or other engineering discipline. i.e. Chemical, Civil or Industrial.  MS Degree or Engineering license desired.

 

10+ years experience in the process control field, and programming experience using SQL databases.

 

Self-starter, independent thinker, yet possesses skill required for team building; problem solving, interpersonal communication and organizational skills.

 

Able to clearly indicate direction and/or share technical information with plant personnel, project team members, other engineering disciplines, outside engineering consultants, AE firms and vendors.

 

Complementary skills include the ability to plan, perform project engineering, evaluate and specify instruments and commission and trouble shoot equipment in the field.

 

Knowledge and proficiency in Microsoft applications, basic computer software programs and SAP system to track trends and costs preferred.

 

Capable of evaluating the requirements of a wood treating or anti-sap stain system and translating those requirements into a functional program that operates the system.

 

WORKING CONDITIONS:

Travel up to 40%.
