In this role you will utilize your experience or expertise to solve problems, develop and execute objectives for self and others, and have the ability to effect short-term and some long-term business goals. Essential Responsibilities - Provide leadership and technical direction for assigned organizational responsibilities, programs, and personnel - Provide support counsel and recommendations to organizational General Manager and Project Management - Promote technical excellence within own section and support groups through design / technical review participation, lessons learned awareness and application, and technical innovation / growth fostering - Establish and maintain relationships with required external and internal interfaces to ensure that customer requirements are understood and being achieved - Establish / modify / monitor overall engineering program requirements, timing, and resources of own section and support groups to meet / exceed business objectives and goals - Effectively communicate technical and financial aspects of section activities vertically and horizontally in the organization - Ensure positive actions are taken to encourage growth, technical development, and improved interpersonal skills - Implement initiatives to continuously improve the responsiveness of the section / organization to customer/business needs - Ensure compliance initiatives and training requirements are implemented Qualifications/Requirements: - Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, or Computer Science (or a high school diploma / GED with at least 4 years of IT, engineering, scientific or other technical experience) - At least 3 additional years of experience in a leadership role within an engineering environment Additional Eligibility Qualifications GE will only employ those who are legally authorized to work in the United States for this opening.
