Project Engineering Manager based in Renfrew

Our Client is a multi-specialist energy services company operating in the thermal power, nuclear, petrochemical, oil gas and pharmaceutical industries. The company is also a leading international steam generation OEM and supplier of the cleanest, most efficient coal powered technology in the world. They provide innovative technology that supports and enhances the service life of energy assets across the globe. The company develops cutting edge technologies to improve plant performance, reduce emissions and ensure safe and efficient plant operation.

 

The role

They are looking to recruit an experienced Project Engineering Manager with extensive Nuclear experience, to lead the programme of Nuclear projects.

 

They are preparing to participate as a major contractor in the nuclear power “new-build” programme, both in the UK and internationally.

 

They will be designers manufacturers of a variety of high integrity vessels, tanks, piping, and their associated structural components, as well as the constructors / installers of the mechanical equipment and systems.

 

They require a Project Engineering Manager to manage the engineering teams for these manufacturing projects, initially for the preparation of tenders and subsequently for the execution of projects.

 

The successful candidate will:-

·         Have a track record of managing the engineering activities and working successfully with clients, sub-contractors, suppliers and in-house teams on projects for the design manufacture of high integrity, safety critical, components.

·         Understand the design requirements, materials, engineering manufacturing processes and the inspection methods applicable to components for a range of nuclear safety classes.

·         Be familiar with the requirements of the European US construction codes and standards for pressure equipment. Specific knowledge of the RCC-M code and Section III of the ASME Boiler Pressure Vessel code would be an advantage.

·         Have an understanding of the developing UK nuclear generation industry and the regulatory regime for nuclear power generation in the UK and how that will affect the specification and execution of projects.

·         Be analytical in evaluation of problems and take a co-operative and innovative approach to their solution.

·         You will be educated to Degree level and preferably Chartered, with substantial relevant experience.
