Position Description

First LevelEngineering Manager for KC-46A Tanker Program responsible for leading Aerial Refueling Drogue Integrated Product Team (IPT) comprised of entry level to senior employees in multiple skill codes. Responsibilities for this position will include integration and management of the drogue supplier, applying knowledge of multi-disciplinary design and concurrent engineering processes and systems engineering methodology and techniques to develop, validate and manage product-level system/subsystem requirements and architectures. Responsibilities also include management of pylon and drogue system detail design, integration and integrated drogue performance modeling. The successful candidate must have the ability to postulate alternative system design approaches and system-level attributes that optimize system effectiveness in terms of performance, cost, risk mitigation, producibility, operational and logistical suitability, growth capability, etc. Participating and providing assistance in resolving programmatic and technical problems that would impact cost, schedule and performance is expected. This manager will establish performance targets for the group and achieve applicable quality requirements while managing Earned Value Management (EVM) performance. The utilization of Technical Performance Measurements, Independent Reviews and Help Needed tools is required. This manager will also be responsible for group personnel management and career development, conduct performance reviews, establish skill requirements and manage group staffing/hiring. This is a leadership position that requires coordination with Senior Management, USAF Customer and Suppliers.

Previous Engineering Management experience is a plus. Familiarity with the KC-46A is a plus. Previous experience with Drogue systems procurement and integration is a plus. The initial phase of the assignment will be accomplished in Wichita, KS and transitioning to Puget Sound. The Wichita portion of the assignment may require a Domestic Temporary Assignment (DTA) for up to 9 months. Upon completion of the Wichita work phase, the successful candidate will be required to lead/ support final product integration and developmental/ flight test activities in Puget Sound.
