POSITION SUMMARY:
Guarantees 100% timely delivery of products to finished goods as scheduled by Company’s committed shipment date. Improves Company’s ability to meet customer delivery needs by identifying constraints, comprehending BU capacity actively reducing lead times (availability) by product. Reduces company’s investment in raw finished material inventory where appropriate.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Monitors, plans, coordinates /or schedules final approval of products through the complete PDP Process.
- Organizes production plans to guarantee materials are provided according to schedules.
- Offers input to management; schedules /or interfaces with material program manager (MPM), engineering, marketing, production sales managers.
- Works to resolve (in case of design changes) labor material shortages, backlogs other possible schedule interruptions.
- Designs executes the company's production control functions including any of the following activities: manufacturing performance reporting, master scheduling, shop scheduling dispatching, material requirements, planning systems, production planning/coordination, material labor variance controls, work-in-process tracking.
- Approves quantities, schedules parts lists provided to the material control organization to certify timely complete ordering, as well as receipt issuance of production material requirements.
- Manages implements Engineering Change Orders (ECOs) in NPI.
- Analyzes long lead time parts works with MPM to create custom supply solutions (e.g. min-max supply, point-of-use material,, kanban, line-side stocking, etc.)
- Synchronize with engineering to develop maintain BOM’s in SAP.
- Coordinate with the program manager to create sustain the project schedule.
- Organize the release of units, parts /or modules to suitable department in production.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- Primarily works in an engineering environment which may be boisterous fast-paced. Because of the nature of the product being produced, high voltage current conditions exist proper precautions must be observed.
SKILLS:
- Capability to respond professionally, quickly, assertively decisively to evolving requirements in material demand, demand product description.
EXPERIENCE:
- Basic understanding of planning the processes associated with manufacturing.
- Experience in a high mix/low volume, pull-based manufacturing environment.
- Demonstrated history of success expansion in positions of increasing responsibility.
- Prior experience with SAP desired or preferred.
EDUCATION:
- BS degree in Computer Information Sciences, Operations Management, Finance, Materials Management or equivalent education /or experience.
