Cobham is seeking an Engineering Process Manager in Prescott, AZ. The Engineering Process Manager is the manager of the Engineering Process, Tools and Services group.  Technical responsibilities include, but are not limited to management of document control and document release, engineering configuration management and development/maintenance of engineering processes and software tools.  The manager will also seek for continuous improvement, manage resource supply and demand, mentor employees, and evaluate operational effectiveness.  The manager will leverage a multi-site Engineering Department and will participate as a key member of its leadership team.

  
Responsibilities:

·         Provides direction and orients employees toward roles and responsibilities

·         Handles all aspects of personnel management in conjunction with the Director of Engineering and Human Resources, such as disciplinary actions, hiring, and promotions

·         Determines staffing requirements and work schedules based on objectives

·         Communicates company plans, policies and procedures to employees on a regular basis

·         Provides guidance and direction to subordinates, including setting performance standards, goals, and monitoring performance

·         Insures that all people are treated with mutual respect and fosters team work

 

Requirements:

·         BS EE, CS or other equivalent engineering degree

·         8+ years of experience in avionics development

·         3+ year formally managing a team

·         Experience managing a multi-discipline engineering organization

·         Experience in DO-178B Engineering Development and Test Processes

·         Strong experience in Engineering Configuration Management

·         Experience in Document Services and Document Release

·         Experience in software tools and/or database development

·         Experience with supporting or managing customer and/or certification authority audits

·         Capable team leader with demonstrated inter-personal, motivational and team building skills

·         Able to work in a multi-site, one team environment

·         Excellent analytic and problem solving skills

·         Strong communicator
