We are seeking an experienced professional in the field of software engineering and project management to lead the development and qualification of electronic flight bags and aerospace video products. The candidate should have a broad-based system and software design and development background (electronics, software, avionics) with a preferred focus on modern avionics. The selected candidate will work in the Video Surveillance and Electronic Flight Bag Center of Excellence within the Sensor and Integrated Systems Strategic Business Unit (SBU) of Goodrich Corporation.

PRIMARY OBJECTIVES:
- Joint development of new aircraft software and systems with existing and new customers.
- Work within the Goodrich product development process to ensure well-defined and organized schedules, risk management plans, budgets, and product development plans
- Provide high level direction to teams of engineers of all disciplines to ensure on time completion of tasks and higher level work packages
- Able to read and provide critical feedback on certification documentation governed by DO-178B and DO-254
- Technical Marketing of products to potential customers,
- Lead internal and customer led design reviews,
- Ensure that project management best practices are put into place on all assignments

Experience in the following areas is strongly desired:
- Complete systems development life-cycle: design, development, integration, and test
- System level requirements definition taking into account:
Customer requirements
Design assurance determination using SAE ARP 4754
DO-254 and DO-178B
FAR/JAR 25 regulations including AC25-11
- Project Scheduling Software
- Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK) best practices

Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment are required. Customer interaction and certification activities for new video and electronic flight bag products are critical objectives for this position. The Project Lead will need to be comfortable in negotiating with customers and certification authorities when discussing technical and contractual requirements.

Some travel (10% - 15%) is required for this position as necessary to support certification meetings, customer design reviews, and technical marketing of new products.

Education: BS preferably in Engineering (including Systems, Aero, EE, SW, or ME), Mathematics, Physics, or Computer Science

Minimum Work Experience: 10 years Engineering Experience with at least 5 in a project management role preferably in an aerospace environment governed by the primary certification authorities (FAA, EASA, etc.)

Competencies: Microsoft Office Tools, Project Scheduling Tools, Technical Writing, DOORS, Oral Presentation, Inter-Personnel Communication
