Engineering Specialist III

The Air Conditioning Systems and Services business of Ingersoll Rand provides heating, ventilation and air conditioning systems that enhance the quality and comfort of the air in homes and buildings around the world. Its offerings, under the Trane and American Standard Heating Air Conditioning brands, include energy efficient systems, service and parts support and advanced building controls.

Responsible for hardware and software design activities for small to intermediate building automation systems. Applies engineering principles and practices for work on assigned projects. Designs cost effective control solutions to meet project requirements. Works directly on the project team to assist the Project Manager with project commissioning.

• Responsible for design and programming activities utilizing direct digital controls.
• Responsible for the sequence of operations which meet the project requirements.
• Applies knowledge of engineering principles and practices.
• Generates Operation Maintenance Manuals.
• Responsible for reviewing contract documents and conducting job surveys.
• Responsible for creating installation drawings, submittal drawings, as-built drawings and transition to service.
• Assists in the preparation of cost estimates for projects.
• Provides engineering direction and support to other team members.
• Reviews equipment submittals for incorporation into design.
• Assists BAS Technicians as required with programming, electrical terminations, commissioning, graphic development, test and startup.
• Maintains customer satisfaction by investigating concerns, implementing corrective action, communication with staff, providing customer feedback and solutions.
• Capability to advise and guide Level I and II Engineering Specialist.
• Some travel possible with occasional overnight stays.
• Flexibility to work outside normal work hours/weekends, as required.
