Engineering Stress Analyst Job in Athens 45701, Ohio Us
· Perform thermal, structural, static and dynamic stress analyses with hand calculations as well as finite element analysis for detailed analysis of complex loads, always seeking congruence between hand calculations and computer simulations
· Experience with linear and non-linear FEA techniques
· Vibration analysis (random vibe, sine transient, pyrotechnic shock)
· Experience with ANSYS heavily preferred
· Knowledge of fatigue (high cycle, low cycle, fatigue crack growth)
· Understanding of FEA limits and verification, including need for mesh convergence studies
· Ability to determine appropriate boundary conditions as well as appropriate FEA model geometry to provide accurate results with minimal computing time
· Document analyses such that any analyses performed are easily reviewed and checked by other engineers as well as project and company management
· Possess computer literacy with respect to FEA computing needs (software and hardware) that enables troubleshooting FEA computing issues
· Communicate results within the project both internally and to external customers and analysts as well as Sunpower management
· Review analyses performed by external entities to determine correctness and relevance to design
