Posted Position Title: Engineering Technical Leader - Software Career Level: Experienced Function Engineering/Technology Function Segment: Product Design and Development Location: United States U.S. State, China or Canada Provinces: Massachusetts City: Lynn Postal Code: 01910-0002 Relocation Assistance Yes Role Summary/Purpose: The Technical Leader - Software Administrator is the software librarian for this organization and is the configuration control manager for Lynn engines Full Authority Digital Engine Control (FADEC) software, related databases, including the software repository. This senior specialist is also the DOORS and SYNERGY administrator for this organization including training engineers on these two tools. Essential Responsibilities - Perform software librarian responsibilities in a thorough, accurate, and timely manner for a large variety of commercial and military engine programs - Work closely with Software Quality, Control System engineers, Standards, and TIC - Provide routine configuration management responsibilities - Manage software build for both development and production software - Maintain records of all software versions both development and production - Build software requirement document for suppliers - Build the interactive specification - Act as custodian of storage for required documents - Ensure compliance of submitted software and updates to policies and procedures - Perform software version backups of engine programs (as needed) - Act as the librarian in this organization Doors / Synergy administrator by maintaining software databases (software change management system) and training engineers on Doors and Synergy functionality Qualifications/Requirements: - Bachelors Degree in Information Systems, Information Technology, Computer Science, or Engineering - Minimum of 8 years of Information Technology (IT) or Engineering Aerospace experience - Minimum of 8 years of experience in Software Administration/"DOORs" Administrator Additional Eligibility Qualifications GE will only employ those who are legally authorized to work in the United States for this opening. Desired Characteristics - Knowledge of aerospace software guidelines (DO178B) - Knowledge of software database systems such as "DOORS" and "Synergy" and how they manage product requirements and their traceability - Knowledge of the Beacon Graphic software and related tools - Knowledge of the Capability Maturity Model Integration (CMMI) process improvement model - Strong oral and written communication skills - Strong interpersonal and leadership skills - Effective problem identification and solution skills - Demonstrated initiative to stay abreast of technology advancements - Demonstrated success in a cross-functional team environment - Masters Degree of Science in Engineering, Information Technology, or Computer Science Why join one great company when you can join many?
