Associates degree in related field and five (5) years experience in engineering, construction, quality configuration management or related field. Equivalent education/experience is applicable.

Must possess excellent oral and written communication skills where information includes precise information and terminology. Must possess the ability to interpret contractual/regulatory intent. Must have good analytical skills; working knowledge of computer systems and integrated software applicable program. Must have notable organizational skills and ability to perform detail-oriented work. Knowledge of NASA configured and critical systems are desired. Position requires the ability to pass and maintain a security clearance.

Job Description:
An immediate opportunity exists for an experienced Engineering Technician III (Configuration Specialist).

Under general supervision, the chosen candidate assists functions to control assigned critical and configured baseline facilities, systems, equipment and utilities (F/S/E/U) for physical electrical, mechanical, and administrative compliance to engineering designs, operational and maintenance documentation, official guides and publications, working within the limits of established policy.

Essential Responsibilities:
* Assists in planning, scheduling, and performing audits for assigned systems to include auditing system operation, documentation, system data, and modification process.
* May assist in the development of standard procedures, flowcharts, and other similar documents to support Configuration Management Program.
* Prepares standard spreadsheets, charts and presentations for meetings, as applicable.
* Reviews basic drawings and analyzes for impacts. May submit review comments.
* May research databases to determine technical documentation requirements: for reliability, maintainability, and availability; life cycle impacts; source issues; and configuration impacts.
* Maintain reviews and comments on configuration management support plans, policies, procedures and similar data.
* Coordinate documentation requirements planning and scheduling, and track throughout project life cycle.
* After modifications or/construction of new F/S/E/U (facilities, systems, equipment, utilities) have been implemented to assigned critical or configured system(s), verify that all documentation affected by such changes or modifications has been updated. Subject to review by supervisor.
* May evaluate findings and error trends, coordinate and report findings with management and involved departments to determine root causes and develop corrective/recurrence control plans with affected department/individuals.
* Provide management of engineering/technical documentation/records and document closure of work packages, as needed.
* Daily interface with engineers, quality, logistics, and OM (operations maintenance) Engineers.

Perform all other position related duties as assigned or requested.
