Engineering Technician

Denver, CO

PRIMARY FUNCTION:
Provide general petroleum engineering support to the Engineering Department.  Provide additional support to the Management team, Operations, Geology, Land and Accounting Departments as needed.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

Manage the drilling and completion reports system for BHEP operated wells including preparing workbooks for onsite supervisors, distribution of daily reports to internal and external partners, and maintaining the drilling and completion database.

  • Assist with economic evaluations using ARIES software as requested.  Help set up the well information and decline schedules, run economics, print and interpret the results.
  • Assist regulatory staff with the preparation and filing of all state and federal reports concerning drilling, completion and major workover operations.
  • Prepare wellbore and facility diagrams and drilling, completion, and production plots.
  • In cooperation with geology, and land departments, provide support for multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Assist in quarterly and annual reserve processes.
  • Other duties as assigned.

    • EXPERIENCE:

    Prefer experience with oil and gas industry software, particularly economic evaluation software, open-hole log analysis software and geological mapping software.

  • Experience with word processing and spreadsheet software.

    • EDUCATION:

     

  • Strongly prefer two or four year degree in Petroleum Technology, Math or Science.
