Engineering test technician Job in Shakopee 55379, Minnesota Us

Adecco Engineering and Technical, a division of the world leader in the recruitment of engineering and information technology professionals, has an immediate opening for an Engineering Test Technician on a contract-to-hire opportunity with our leading client company in Shakopee

In this position candidates will support the electrical and mechanical development engineers by organizing and maintaining the lab area, conducting product or material tests (electrical and mechanical), completion of test reports and documentation.

Specific responsibilities:
Product testing (40%)
This testing will involve verification of product performance (power ratings, capabilities, heat loss etc.).
The tests will be organized, carried out, and a test report generated by the technician.
The tests will involve high operating voltages up to 480VAC and 1000VDC.

Test system/fixture development (30%)
In some cases, to support product tests, it will be necessary to construct special test systems.
Responsibilities will include design and development of the required system, procurement of needed materials (internal and external), communication and coordination with external sub contractors.

Lab organization and coordination (10%)
Will be responsible for maintaining the tools and resources in the RD lab area, scheduling resources for tests, maintaining test equipment, organization and procurement of basic hardware ( screws, connectors, wire, etc.).

Lab Safety (10)%
Work with the VP of Engineering to expand the safety program in the LAB area. This will be an on going process to improve employee safety.

Minimum requirements:
Completion of a 2 year electrical/electronics technical degree.
Understanding of 3 phase power, 3 phase AC motor control
Understanding of industrial control systems ( PLCs, sensors)
PLC or computer programming experience ( Visual Basic or block diagram or similar)
Additional beneficial experience:
ISO testing requirements
Test experience with 3rd party labs such as UL or CSA
Experience working with Ethernet based bus communication systems
