Electrical Engineer
The Electrical Engineer is responsible for providing electrical expertise in completing engineering design, analysis, studies, reviews, schedules, and other electrical engineering-related work as requested by the In-Theater engineering and construction staff. Experience working in a military environment or for an international engineering services provider or similar organization would be ideal, as would experience working in remote sites or in other arduous environments. Will take all steps necessary to meet aggressively accelerated deadlines typical of a contingency environment. Perform other related tasks as required.
Responsibilities:
- Performs electrical design calculations(i.e., low/high power distribution systems, lighting, data/ telecommunication systems, etc.), sketches, technical comparisons and similar technical work as required by assignment
- Coordinates project assignments with other engineers and technicians in his/her discipline group associated with Camp Leatherneck projects.
- Reviews drawings supplied by vendors. clients, and engineers and architects and recommends necessary changes.
- Researches federal code issues and works with Camp and theater-wide construction officials.
- Researches design options and documents findings for Project Engineers and/or
- Project Managers.
- Assists with other within scope duties assigned by Project Managers.
- Strong written and verbal skills are required.
- Modification of existing construction products, production technique improvement
- test procedure development as required.
- Take action to move projects from inception to completion.
- Review and/or prepare engineering qualification tests procedures associated data sheets.
- Ensure completeness of all electrical documentation to assure smooth transition from design to construction.
- Advise management of new developments which may affect scope, schedule, costs, customer relations, and/or inter-departmental relations.
- Active "hands-on" involvement in meeting team milestones/deliverables.
- Ensure consistency in design reviews, verification qualification efforts.
- Accountable for technical completeness of team’s design output.
- Foster creativity and innovation in design solutions.
- Complete and release construction documentation to lead architect.
Skills:
- Design of complex electronic energy systems, including system engineering, analog/digital, AC-DC inverters, generators and charge controller integration.
- Experience working with electro/mechanical engineers for parts and system integration.
- Interface with outside vendors, consultants, driving external design resources.
- Proficient in using Schematic capture and board layout and SPICE modeling.
- Proficient in using Pro-E and or Solid Works 3D modeling and collaboration.
- Previous use of Altium (Protei) schematic capture and board layout.
Qualifications:
- BSEE, with a minimum of 7-10 years of hands-on experience in power generation and distribution and lighting design for various building types.
- Knowledge of construction electrical engineering applications and AutoCAD is required.
- PE required.
- Deliverables (results) oriented team oriented with a strong desire for "hands-on" work.
- Excellent verbal written communication skills.
- Ability to write technical specifications for internal use and/or external vendors or consultants.

Civil Engineer (WATER AND SEWER)
Provide professional engineering services to the BOS-1 AE team. Must be a college degree engineer, have a minimum of five years of design experience and be capable of: working out calculations with regard to structural, water design, earthwork, basic roadwork; providing civil design services including preparation of civil/site work drawings, structural evaluations and designs, and water/sewer designs based on existing local utilities and facility load and use; and work 1nconjunctionwith CAD designer to take hand-drawn plans from engineers from multiple disciplines (i.e., civil, mechanical electrical)and utilize AutoCAD to create presentable and accurate facility and infrastructure plans for concept and statement of work requirements for project execution. Engineer will also be proficient in AutoCAD2007 or later. Perform other related tasks as required.
Responsibilities:
- Applies engineering principles and practices for the planning, design and operation of the municipal water and sewerage system.
- Develops and maintains water and sewer line engineering and design standards.
- Performs field engineering surveys and keep field survey notes.
- Reviews plats and plans and submits reports to the BOS-1 for consideration by the Master City Planner.
- Reviews and approves water line design plans.
- Reviews and approves sewer line plans.
- Determines the availability of water and sewer to specific sectors and/or lots.
- Makes recommendations for improvements for inclusion in the budget.
- Coordinates and reviews surveys to prepare easements and to establish control of line and grade in the construction of water lines and sanitary sewers.
- Reviews and recommends changes related to water and sewer issues to the BOS-1.
- Prepares special project reports.
- Reviews and approves hydraulic calculations for extension of water and sewer lines and sewer line cut sheets.
- Reviews contract change orders and pay requests for water and sewer projects.
- Assists in the development of hydraulic computer models of the water distribution system. Supervises and collects field data for calibration and verification of the model.
- Sizes water service line connections and meters.
Skills:
- Must communicate effectively in English, orally and in writing.
- Knowledge of standard engineering principles and practices and design standards for water and sewer lines.
- Perform field engineering surveys and keep field survey notes, and prepare property line surveys.
- Ability to learn engineering software systems is required. Knowledge of software systems, including Watercadd water distribution modeling and Intergraph applications, is preferred.
- Working knowledge of land surveying with registration as a professional land surveyor preferred.
- Make frequent and extended trips to construction sites, improved and unimproved, in all weather conditions.
- Capable of independent judgment.
- Demonstrate good temperament, judgment, patience and human relation skills and be able to communicate with the military, contractors, engineers, surveyors and others of the public, in an occasionally contentious environment.
Qualifications:
- College degree in civil or environmental engineering and five years of responsible experience in water and sewer engineering
- Registration as a professional civil or environmental engineer.

Mechanical Engineer
Description:
With limited supervision, apply advanced mechanical engineering techniques and analysis. The Mechanical Engineer develops designs that are functional and innovative. To accommodate performed in expeditionary environment with minimal supervision; has considerable latitude in determining objectives and approaches to assignments. Research, develop and design a variety of systems for commercial and industrial facilities. Evaluate the desired goal of the system and develop, design, or elect the required equipment, power controls, piping, structures and earthwork to achieve the goal. Performs other related tasks as required.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Performs calculations and evaluations in the design of equipment and systems for industrial applications
- Participates 1n planning, cost development and management, and scheduling for assigned projects
- Analyze field failures, resolving technical related issues involving Leatherneck real property.
- Meet with end user and external customers as needed to understand requirements.
- Investigate new technologies or existing technologies that can be effectively applied to Camp Leatherneck.
- Ensure that the product being developed will meet customer expectations.
- Directs activities to ensure that construction, installation, and operational testing conform to functional specifications, recognized codes and standards, and customer requirements
- Maintains effective communication with project team members and with the customer.
Skills:
Thorough knowledge of mechanical engineering principles and practices used in building construction; thorough knowledge of applicable rules and regulatory codes relevant to the alteration and construction of plumbing, heating, ventilating or air conditioning systems in facilities; good knowledge of construction plans and specifications for plumbing, heating, ventilating and air conditioning systems in facilities; ability to perform difficult technical computations; ability to make complex, technical drawings; ability to read and interpret construction plans; ability to establish and maintain effective working conditions with others; ability to supervise in a manner conducive to full performance and high morale; physical condition commensurate with the demands of the position.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- B.S. in Mechanical Engineering
- Working knowledge of metals and alloys and their properties.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office products
- ACAD experience required.
- 7-10 years experience required, BS or MS in an engineering discipline, PE Registration desirable.

Structural Engineer
Description
Support the BOS-1 and associated military customers. Provide engineering advice, expertise and assistance with all structural-related construction and engineering issues related to projects. Performs other related tasks as required.
Responsibilities
- Read and comprehend construction documents.
- Calculate, prepare and review estimate, grade sheets and other related material.
- Communicate with contractors.
- Work with little supervision.
- Prepare written reports and technical memos based on findings from project conceptual studies, structural analyses, condition inspections, etc.
- Function as a technical expert making recommendations to design consultants and contractor personnel
- Consultation w1thmilitary, civilian, and local nationals on task and project assignment from inception to completion.
- Provide design and analysis of structural components of buildings, bridges and other structures and be responsible for the structural design and integrity of these structures.
- Prepare and analyze plans for static and dynamic loading and available structures that are resistant to them; be creative in order to ensure the structures support and resist the loads they are subjected to.
- Provide pre-design services, programming, planning; and
- Provide designs, drawings, specifications and other technical submissions,
- Administer construction contracts and the co-ordination of any elements of technical submissions prepared by others.
- Understand National and International Building and Safety Codes.
- Review and make recommendations on whether to approve construction shop drawings, shoring plans and design calculations.
Skills:
- Experience in calculating, preparing and reviewing estimates, grade sheets and other related material.
- Communicate with contractors.
- Experience in project management techniques and principles that include budget, scope and schedule development, monitoring and implementation.
- Work with little supervision and supervise staff.
- Prepare written reports and technical memos based on findings form project conceptual studies, structural analyses and condition inspections, etc.

Qualifications:
- Five to seven years of relevant work experience
- Licensed Professional Structural Engineer
