Description: The Mission Support Business Unit (MSBU) is seeking an ASIC/FPGA Design Engineer. The candidate will design low-power, mixed-signal ASICs including RTL generation and verification, synthesis, timing analysis, gate-level simulations, place route, and other design processes through silicon validation. The candidate must also be able to evaluate and incorporate existing cores and other intellectual property into ASIC designs. Develops designs for electronic, electro-mechanical, or mechanical equipment. Develops basic data and makes preliminary layouts, sketches, and notes necessary to present design proposal. Investigates pertinent design factors such as ease of manufacture, availability of materials and equipment, interchangeability, replaceability, strength-weight efficiency, and contractual specification requirements and cost. Candidate should have an understanding of the customer and customer's mission needs. Qualifications : Required Skills: Bachelors degree (or equivalent work experience) and 2 or more years of experience in FPGA and ASIC design including experience with coding in VHDL/Verilog, and developing in C/C++. Candidate must have experience with timing analysis, synthesis, and verification, and experience with Cadence/synopsys design tools. Experience in FPGA and ASIC designs for networking and communications applications is required. Candidate must have a SECRET level or higher clearance. Desired Skills: Digital signal processing (DSP) background and experience; experience with power distribution and equipment is also desired. TYPICAL EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Bachelor's degree in related field and 8+ years progressive experience in field.
