Job Description
ROLE SUMMARY:
The successful operational risk analyst working in the Bank Operational Risk Oversight – Capital, Reporting Governance team in Singapore, will be responsible for loss data collation, generation and analysis of key Global/ Regional operational risk loss reports for Senior Management and Regulators. Focus will be on improving the quality accuracy, timeliness and usefulness of Operational Risk loss reports.
To be successful, the candidate needs to be good in stakeholder management and is required to interact and establish relationship (various levels) with FO to BO departments involved in the loss reporting process. The candidate must provide assistance and appropriate challenges to the departments in the end-to-end loss process value chain.
Successful analyst is likely to be involved in other aspects of operational risk related tasks e.g. risk analyst review of major loss/ incidents, operational risk governance co-ordination, training.
THE ROLE INVOLVES:
Responsible for data collation, generation and analysis of key Global/ Regional operational risk loss incidents/ reports
Ensure quality, completeness and accuracy of operational risk loss data in the operational risk systems/ database/ report example Kintana and iGold.
Liaise with respective loss data providers to get quality/ timely data and implement change as required
Analyze operational risk loss incidents/ reports and ensure timely resolution of issues raised by stakeholders/ escalation of issues to relevant stakeholders

•Communicating best practice solutions throughout the firm and ensuring that lessons learned are shared across the bank
•Developing and implementing methodologies for determining operational risk capital and other management information reporting
•Leading the regulatory and external dialogue on operational risk
•High level communication and reporting to Capital and Risk Management Committee (CARMC)
•Responsibility for internal and external loss data collation across the firm
Strategic Operational Risk Management
•Increasing operational risk transparency in the IB division
•Assist in IB Business Operating Reviews (Business self–assessments)
•Investigation of large IB operational risk incidents and performing targeted reviews
•Lead or assist in operational risk mitigation or remediation programmes in the IB division
•Cross-divisional operational risk remediation projects
Candidate Value Proposition
1-3 years – build foundation on core operational risk processes/ methodologies/ reports
3-5 years – involvement in/ lead highly visible/ impactful review projects with exposure/ interactions with Senior Management within the firm.
Qualifications
TO QUALIFY, YOU MUST POSSESS:
Qualifications:
- Degree qualified
Work Experience:
- 1-3+ years of work experience in a financial institution with good financial process/ products knowledge
- Good understanding of risk and control gained through e.g. Operational Risk role, Internal Audit, SOX404 work, Audit firm
- Competent with MS Excel and MS Access is essential
- Experience of report preparation, performance / risk metrics
- Experience as a Business Analyst experience is preferred
- Experience in a risk management role is strongly preferred
