The Enterprise Architect provides overall direction, guidance and definition of an enterprise’s architecture to effectively support the corporate business strategy. 

This work demands a high degree of collaboration between:  the members of the EA team, the appropriate network of domain architects, member(s) of the PMO, and/or appropriate member(s) of the Office of the CIO (O-CIO). 

 

The Enterprise Architect also interacts with senior O-CIO leadership team and other key stakeholders regarding the architectural aspects of strategic decisions for the O-CIO and the enterprise.  They are involved in complex decision making and understanding the far reaching implications across the CIO organization.

 

The Enterprise Architect interfaces across several lines of business (LOB’s) to proactively assist in defining the future enterprise direction, acting as visionary to proactively assist in defining the direction for future projects based on the LOB’s three year operating plans.

 

As an Enterprise Architect, you will:

 

Qualified candidates should possess:

·         Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or other related field.  Or equivalent work experience.

·         7 to 10 years of IT and business/industry work experience in multiple IT areas and 2 to 3 years of relevant enterprise-wide architecture experience in one or more EA dimensions such as Business (process modeling), Information, Systems or Technology / Infrastructure.

·         Enterprise Architecture experience required in EA methodologies, frameworks and tools such as DODAF, TOGAF or Zachman framework.

·         Strong decision making and communication skills and ability to easily communicate with senior business leaders (including C-level) as well as technical teams.

·         Experience as enterprise architect in large scale global implementations or transformations and integrated processes with PMO, Applications and Technology delivery groups.

·         Experience preferred in transportation/logistics/distribution industries but not required.

·         Prior experience with architecture trade-off analysis methods and considerations of TCO, business flexibility and risks in a balanced manner. Must be able to translate complex ideas and analysis into clearly understandable and impactful presentations or documents to influence executive leadership in the organization.

·         Must be well informed and knowledgeable around leading edge concepts in technology including SOA, SaaS, Virtualization, Security, Cloud Computing, Mobile devices, Information Management, MDM, BPM, and Portals.

·         Experience with EA repository management systems such as IDS Scheer ARIS (Oracle BPA) or other enterprise architecture tools.

·         Preferred experience around enterprise architecture metrics identification and management.

·         Must have experience in one or more EA dimension in which they will concentrate.

o    Business dimension should have experience in the areas of business capability definition, process modeling and linking business architecture to applications and infrastructure architectures.

o    Information dimension should have experience in the areas of data architecture, data modeling, database management systems or package based data models preferred.

o    Solution or Technology / Infrastructure dimensions should have Solution/Product experience with 3rd Party systems, preferably Oracle EBS, Siebel, OTM, Fusion Middleware, OBIEE, OIM, and OEM among others.
